‘What about XP PRO’?
· HP will no longer ship units in XP downgraded mode as of October 2010
o Consequence: as of October 1st, no systems will have XP downgrade DVD’s in the
box (this means that we will only ship Vista and Win7 part numbers + DVD’s where
available and selected).
· !!! the end-user can still obtain Windows XP PRO restore media from HP until
July 2011 (è the date has been extended)
o HOW? HP will provide a card, inserted in the hardware box, explaining what the
customer has to do in order to get the XP downgrade media. Basically, the
customer will have to call HP Support on 078 600 600.
· Will HP support Windows XP on new business desktop, workstation and notebook
models in 2011?
o HP will support XP Professional on select models introduced in 2011. HP will
make best efforts to provide key hardware drivers available for Windows XP on
select models introduced in 2012.
